December is a time when music comes to the forefront for many people. Even if you don’t sing at all the rest of the year, chances are you’ll sing carols or at least hum along to “White Christmas” when it’s on. With that in mind, we have several opportunities for you to participate in music here at UU Lansing during the holiday season.
The next opportunity to sing this month would be to join the Chalice Choir for our Christmas Eve services. We have already started learning the music, but it’s not too late to jump in. We meet Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. (There will be no rehearsal the Thursday after Christmas, December 28.)
All of this is, of course, in addition to our regular Sunday morning music-making in services. Join us!
Third-Sunday Hymn SingsOn the third Sunday of each month, we gather in the Sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. to sing some of our old favorite hymns and learn some new ones. This is an opportunity to explore more of our hymnals, Singing the Living Tradition and Singing the Journey, as well as look at new music that is being written for our UU congregations. Pianist Lia Wang and the Chalice Choir help us lift our voices in communal song. Hope to see you there!
