February 2015 Splinters from the Board

The Board discussed next steps since we officially own the 5509 South Pennsylvania property. We need to request an exemption from property taxes (separate from our Special Land Use Permit). We are arranging for a temporary sign to be installed in 3-4 weeks. The architect is working on the detailed plans for bidding. The Dream Implementation Team proposed using several non-Capital-Campaign funds for some of the building-related costs.

The Board discussed issues involved in selling the 855 Grove Street property and approved a charge for the task force.

The Board scheduled the annual congregational meeting on April 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

Shawn Riley, chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, sent a request, approved by the Board, to recommend removing SPC from the UUCGL bylaws as a standing committee. The functions of SPC would be assumed by the Board, with specific requests for assistance as appropriate. Further discussion will occur at the March Board meeting.
