There are lots of ways to participate, such as bringing your basket items, ideas, laughter, and a sense of adventure. And while we say “basket,” it can be any collection of items in any container. We expect there are some things at your house that would love to be in a basket, just waiting to find a new home with an auction bidder. We will furnish a variety of baskets (different colors, types, and sizes), tissue paper, and some sustaining snacks. Who knows what baskets will arise from the treasures around us?

Bring Back the Joy! 2022 Auction of Experiences and Arts

Bring Back the Joy! 2022 Auction of Experiences and Arts

Our annual UU Lansing Auction brings joy to our church in multiple ways: it is the largest fundraiser of the year, benefiting our church operating budget, and it is one of our largest FUNraisers of the year, bringing us communal joy through shared meals, parties, learning experiences, themed gift baskets, talents, and skills. This Sunday, May 8 is your final opportunity to participate!

There are three ways to get in on the fun:

Bidding, Buy-It-Now, and Signup: A minimum bid is listed, bids are raised in set increments, and the highest bidder at the end of the auction wins the item.

Buy-It-Now is an alternative to bidding, for those who want to jump high and claim the item immediately.

Or, you can sign up for other items with a set price. Quantities can vary, so be sure to choose how many you want to purchase.

Auction Information Table: Bidder numbers and print copies of the catalog (preview items online here) will be available in the Atrium on Sunday. If you are taking an item home that you won by bidding or signup, please check in at the Information Table so we have a record of who has what at the end of the day.

Bidder Number: You will need to use your bidder number on the bid/signup sheets in the Social Hall. If you forgot your bidding number or have not obtained one yet, please stop by the Auction Information Table in the Atrium to obtain it.

Winning Bids: Successful bidders will be notified in person on Sunday or by email as soon as possible at the end of the auction. Some items are available for pickup at the church, while others can be picked up by mutual arrangement between donor and buyer.

Payment can be made online through the church website or by check mailed to the church or turned in to the Auction Information Table at checkout on Sunday.

All Auction activities will follow our Covid Guidelines using the CDC Community Level tool. For in-person indoor events:

·         If we are at LOW on the date of the event, we are good to go.

·         If we are at MEDIUM, the host of an indoor event has a choice: participants wear masks when not eating, or the event is postponed until the level is back to low.

·         At HIGH, the host must postpone.

Contact our Auction Team at auction.uucgl@gmail.com if you have any questions. Your joyful enthusiasm is bringing back the joy for all of us!
