September 2026 Board Meeting

Splinters from the Board (from meeting Tuesday Sept 22):

1. There was discussion of an initial planning process for improvement and maintenance of church property, including the former encampment site. An ad hoc group will be formed to consider options; involvement in the process and ideas will be invited from all.

2. Plans were discussed for the October 11 Second Sunday Information Meeting with the congregation. The main topic will be a Finance Team presentation and discussion of the 2027 draft budget. The finalized budget incorporating feedback will be passed at the November 15 congregational meeting. Other topics for October 11 include updates on the encampment cleanup/brush removal on the solar panel installation.

3. The Board discussed the process for review of the operational policy on Church-Sponsored Groups. This will be considered further at the October Board meeting with input from Rev. Roger Bertschausen.

4. Policy Governance issues and changes to date were summarized. The Board will be working with Rev. Roger, who has experience in models of policy governance, to enhance communication and clarification of roles involving the Board and minister.
